Halima Aden's First Fashion Collaboration to be Unveiled at Istanbul Modest Fashion Week, 20-21
With just a few days to go, event organisers reveal some of the fashion brands and special collections that will be showcased at the 2nd edition of Modanisa Istanbul Modest Fashion Week (IMFW) in April.
One of the catwalk highlights will undoubtedly come from supermodel Halima Aden, who has teamed up with leading modest fashion e-tailer Modanisa to create a collection of headscarves. Comprising 27 pieces in total, the exclusive Halima Aden x Modanisa collection is not only Aden's first collaboration, but also the first to bear her name.
The fashion show is one of twenty-two taking place at IMFW, which will feature an exciting mix of established and emerging labels from Turkey and abroad. Among those debuting their new Ramadan collections on the Istanbul runway will be Turkish designers Nihan Peker, Halil GUI and Minel A k. the UK's Till We Cover, and UAE's Rabia Zargarpur, who is also collaborating with Modanisa under her pioneering designer label Rabia Z.
At the forefront of ethical and sustainable modest fashion, Dubai-based Zargarpur has designed a versatile Rabia Z x Modanisa capsule high-street collection with her signature effortless-chic aesthetic and breathable fabrics. Called 'Basics, Re-imagined', this new Rabia Z line transforms basics into high fashion for every woman. The capsule consists of dressed-up long organic t-shirts paired with eco-friendly jeans, and chic shirt-dresses and pants in sustainable Tencel and high quality cotton-sateen, as well as some exclusive pieces for Ramadan/Eid- all within an accessible price range for Modanisa.
Bridal wear will also make its debut on the catwalk at IMFW. Designer Halil GUI is behind the new M Wedding collection that includes dresses for both brides and bridesmaids, headscarves and accessories. Using organic fabrics, GUI's 190-piece collection will fuse "glamour with chic romantic and boho styles" at affordable prices.
Due to participant feedback, dates for Modanisa Istanbul Modest Fashion Week have also been put back by a few days, so that it now falls on a weekend: 20 and 21 April 2019. The venue has also been confirmed, with catwalk shovvs, panel debates and the modest fashion pop-up market all taking place at the multi-use Zorlu Centre in the heart of the city.
